A new breed of ride! Bustang Outrider, together with Alpine Express, unleashed a wildly comfortable new transit service in 2021 from Telluride to Grand Junction with major stops in Montrose, Olathe and Delta. This service is designed to provide Colorado Western Slope residents access to St. Mary’s Medical Center, the Grand Junction VA Medical Center and the Grand Junction Regional Airport. In collaboration with Alpine Express, Studio Six developed an integrated marketing program leveraging targeted paid social and print to promote the new service.

To create widespread regional awareness for this new intercity bus service, we created an affordable media buy and custom creative to reach the right audience with the right message. Our geo-targeted social media campaign highlighted key destinations, awe-inspiring scenery and targeted specific Western Slope audiences most benefited by the new service. Our Facebook and Instagram video, designed to capture the attention of high-propensity regional riders, creates a laid-back vibe that feels authentic to western Colorado. Our scope included custom photography, a social media video, print collateral, map design and media buying services.

The secret to launching a new service is to clearly identify the correct target markets and to ensure the marketing represents those audiences. Typical transit marketing features the bus or the vehicles providing the service but is lacking the human element. The most important investment a transit agency can make when launching a new service is high quality rider photography integrated into a larger multi-touch, multimedia campaign.
